YÖKDİL (Foreign Language Exam for Higher Education Institutions) is a language proficiency and assessment exam organized under the auspices of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), in cooperation with Anadolu University and Ankara University. Candidates who take the YÖKDİL exam can use their results for graduate programs, TUS (Medical Specialization Exam), DUS (Dental Specialization Exam), and associate professorship applications within higher education institutions in Turkey. Additionally, YÖKDİL scores can be used as proof of language proficiency for academic promotion in universities.

• The exam is conducted in the fields of Science, Social Sciences, and Health Sciences.

• It is held two or three times a year.

• The exam consists of 80 questions.

• The exam duration is 180 minutes.

• It is administered in four languages: English, Arabic, French, and German.

The exam includes the following sections:

• Vocabulary – 10 questions

• Grammar – 10 questions

• Cloze Test – 10 questions

• Sentence Completion – 12 questions

• Translation – 10 questions

• Reading Passages – 18 questions

• Paragraph Completion – 5 questions

• Irrelevant Sentence in Paragraph – 5 questions
